The conversation

Episode show notes

Tuscan local, Sarah Matilde Madiona introduces a lesser-visited side of Tuscany, away from the major city hotspots of Florence and Pisa. She says visit Maremma instead, especially if you love nature.

Maremma is a region that stretches from southern Tuscany to Civitavecchia in Lazio. It’s known (by those in the know) for its rugged coastline, and plentiful opportunities to get out into nature.

Sarah’s tips range from cultural insights, to the healing power of nature. Throughout the conversation, she shares her love of Maremma’s fabulous nature, Italy’s world-renowned cuisine, and local festivals in little towns scattered in the hills of Tuscany that most tourists have no idea exist.
