Matt Dennis, AKA: the Empowered Traveller, is a travel writer from the UK who specialises in writing about accessible travel. He also works with hotels and attractions to support them in enhancing their product for all travellers.
When Matt was 18, he lost the use of one leg, which took away his confidence. It wasn’t until an interrailing trip around Europe and a subsequent adventure across India that he reconnected with his former love of travel and his confidence returned.
His story is very much one of empowerment, and Matt demonstrates through his many anecdotes that so much can be achieved when you set your mind to it – both as an individual traveller, and as a hotel or attraction looking to welcome visitors who may have mobility challenges.
