Meet Danielle Nemesio

Danielle Nemesio is an American-born travel and lifestyle creator based in Italy, best known online as Danielle_in_sicily. Her work looks beyond the postcard version of travel to explore what it genuinely feels like to build a life abroad.

After years of dreaming about living beyond the United States, Danielle met her Sicilian husband while they were both working at Walt Disney World’s EPCOT. She later moved to Sicily, having already spent a decade getting to know the island. Her content combines travel storytelling with humour and emotional honesty, moving between the pleasures of local markets, food and everyday beauty and the less photogenic realities of bureaucracy, cultural adjustment and belonging.

Danielle’s audience is drawn to an approach in which experiences are lived rather than staged. She writes and films about identity, slower living and the contrast between expectation and reality, while sharing the small moments that reveal the true rhythm of life in Sicily.
